2011 OVC Softball Champions
Jacksonville State athletics continued to dominate on the field of competition as the Gamecocks won numerous Ohio Valley Conference Championships and advanced to NCAA Championships, while also excelling in the classroom, during the 2010-11 year.
The Gamecocks won a total of five Ohio Valley Conference Championships and posted their best finish ever in the OVC Commissioner’s Cup at second and was just two points shy of winning the award.
The Jax State women’s tennis team won the regular-season and the OVC Tournament, while the men’s golf and softball teams also advanced to the NCAA Regionals after winning conference tournament titles. The rifle team advanced to the NCAA National Championships and finished fourth, while the football team advanced into the second round of the NCAA playoffs as the Gamecocks hosted their first home playoff game in more than 18 years.

Jacksonville State had five OVC Player or Most Valuable Player of the Year Awards, one NCAA All-Americans, 61 OVC All-Conference honorees, two teams claimed All-Academic honors, one OVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and one OVC Coach of the Year.
Since joining the Ohio Valley Conference in 2003-04, Jacksonville State has solidified itself as the preeminent athletic program in the conference.
The Gamecocks have won 47 OVC Championships over the last seven years, which is 11 more than the next OVC school. JSU has seen nine of its 15 programs bring home various titles and combine for 29 trips to the NCAA post-season play.
Gamecock student-athletes also excelled in the classroom after 12 teams posted a combined grade point average of 3.0 or higher, which is the most in school history. Additionally, 106 student-athletes were named to the OVC Commissioner Honor Roll and 136 student-athletes posted a 3.0 grade point average or higher during the academic year.
