2009 OUTLOOK: A versatile player that is a very good athlete…projected as the starting third baseman…could also catch or play left field…has all the attributes to become an outstanding hitter…should become stronger as he matures, which will only make him better.

SUMMER BASEBALL: Played for the Chattanooga Blast for Tom Holloway in 2007 and 2008.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Brian Hitchcox at Notre Dame High School…was a three-time All-State selection…batted .480 with 12 home runs, 11 doubles and 54 RBI as a senior…finished his career with a .442 batting average and 35 home runs…was named to the Chattanooga Times Free-Press Best of Preps his sophomore, junior and senior years…was selected for the Tennessee All-Star team…was a three-time All-District and All-Region selection…was named the Most Valuable Player of the Tennessee-Georgia Futures Game his junior season…also lettered in football and basketball, where he was named team MVP for both squads…was a two-time first-team All-State selection his junior and senior years in football and was a first-team All-District selection in basketball his senior year…played in the Tennessee-Georgia All-Star Basketball game his senior year.

PERSONAL: Full name is Samuel Christopher Eberle…son of Rick and Libby Eberle…born on February 1, 1990…has one older brother, Richard…his father, Rick, played golf at UTC, while his grandfather played basketball at the University of Virginia, and his uncle played baseball at the University of Alabama…lists the Atlanta Braves as his favorite Major League team and Josh Hamilton is his favorite player…major is undeclared at JSU.
